Joining the Morrison Mahoney partnership are:

James C. Bass (Providence, RI)– James concentrates his practice in the areas of professional and medical malpractice, construction litigation and industrial accidents, products liability, and tort and liability defense. James has extensive experience arguing before the state and federal courts in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, as well as multiple alternative dispute resolution forums, including AAA and JAMS. As a long-time Rhode Islander practicing for a Boston-based firm, James is knowledgeable of the nuances of litigating in Rhode Island and Massachusetts and attempts to tailor client solutions to the unique needs of each jurisdiction.

Daria R. Capaldi (Providence, RI)– Daria concentrates her practice in the area of workers’ compensation, representing employers, self-insureds, third-party administrators, and insurance carriers in all aspects of workers’ compensation litigation under the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Act. She has successfully obtained numerous denials of Original Petitions for favorable outcomes for clients.

Scott R. Gilmond (Boston, MA)– Scott concentrates his practice in the areas of tort and liability defense and represents insurance companies and their insureds in various civil litigation matters including automobile, construction, premises liability, and G.L. c. 93A claims in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Scott has obtained favorable results for insurers and their insureds in Superior Court trials, as well as during mediations and arbitration.

Janelle M. Gordon (Boston, MA)– Janelle concentrates her practice in the areas of tort and liability defense. She represents insurance companies and their insureds in a range of complex civil litigation matters, including automobile, construction, premises liability and G.L. c. 93A matters. Janelle has handled numerous appearances and arguments before the Massachusetts trial and appeals courts, as well as the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. She also has trial experience and has participated in mediation and arbitration proceedings.

Michael R. Lavoie (Springfield, MA)– Michael has experience at all stages of litigation, from counseling to appeals.  His practice is primarily focused in the areas of professional malpractice, including the defense of physicians, hospitals, lawyers, and other professionals in state and federal courts, as well as before administrative licensing bodies. Michael also represents contractors in construction claims and employers in employment law matters involving wage and hour disputes and discrimination. Whether it be early resolution, finding creative strategies to bring disputes to a close, or zealous courtroom advocacy, Michael is at his best when partnering with clients to achieve favorable outcomes to actual or potential litigation.

Thomas M. Madden (Parsippany, NJ)– Tom concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial liability, professional liability, premises liability, products liability, construction defect litigation and environmental litigation. Tom has been lead counsel more than 50 civil jury trials to verdict in the majority of New Jersey Superior Court Vicinages and Federal District Court. He has handled numerous appearances and arguments before the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey as well as argument before the New Jersey Supreme Court in Creanga v. Jardal, 185 N.J. 345 (2005).

Jessica M. Savino (Boston, MA)– Jessica concentrates her practice in the area of tort and liability defense and represents both individuals and corporations in personal injury, premises liability, and malpractice matters. She also advises and defends insurers on issues involving coverage and claims of bad faith. Jessica is licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island and has successfully defended insurers and insureds alike at the federal, state, and appellate levels, including recent arguments before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She has also prevailed at arbitration on UIM matters.
