Morrison Mahoney Partner Anthony Abeln prevailed in a medical malpractice case following a four-day jury trial in Suffolk Superior Court. Our client, a major teaching hospital and the chief of its Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department, was alleged to have caused the plaintiff to suffer a facial deformity and other injuries.
The claim was that our client negligently performed an enucleation of a cystic mass and bone grafting procedure, causing the plaintiff to require substantial reconstructive surgery and drop out of college.
The jury deliberated for 45 minutes before returning a verdict for the defense.
