Ralph Suozzo & Bill Staar Obtain Defense Verdict in Transportation Case

Manchester Partners Ralph Suozzo and Bill Staar obtained a defense verdict after three days of trial and a post-free-lunch five-minute jury deliberation in a motor vehicle accident case. The plaintiff’s final demand had been $75,000. Although there was conflicting testimony, we were able to convince the jury that the accident occurred when the plaintiff approached from behind our client’s vehicle in a middle turn lane and a fast rate of speed, crossing over a double yellow line and striking the driver’s side of our client’s vehicle. The key to victory was getting an independent eyewitness and the investigating police officer to testify and corroborate our client’s version of the accident.
