Jennifer A. Rymarski recently gave to two presentations on the issues of the Electronic Health Record (“EHR”) and Informed Consent. The presentations were given on behalf of MRM Group, a patient safety and risk management company based in Hartford, Connecticut, to UCONN residents in psychiatry and obstetrics/gynecology. Jennifer’s hour-long presentations on August 18th and 19th involved risk management considerations on how to best utilize and document in the EHR to ensure optimal patient care. The presentations also included sample case studies and each contained a segment on the emerging issue of informed consent and/or informed refusal.
