Hartford Partner Joe Mascaro and Associate John Sheehy obtained summary judgment in Bridgeport Superior Court in favor of our client.
Plaintiff, an attorney, alleged that she was induced by our client to sign a sales contract, that our client engaged in aggressive practices to collect money she owed under the contract, and that our client’s product caused damage to her scalp. Plaintiff’s Complaint alleged intentional and negligent misrepresentation, assault and battery, and violation of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (“CUTPA”).
Joe and John moved for summary judgment on the basis that all of the Plaintiff’s claims were barred by the applicable statute of limitations. In response, Plaintiff argued that her claims were timely as the statute was tolled under the continuing course of conduct doctrine. The Court disagreed and entered judgment in favor of our client.
