Scott is a partner in the Boston office of Morrison Mahoney LLP. With more than 35 years of trial experience, Scott is a seasoned litigator who defends professionals, businesses, and institutions in high-stakes disputes across state and federal courts, appellate courts, and administrative agencies. His practice centers on the defense of non-medical professionals—including attorneys, accountants, insurance producers, real estate professionals, construction professionals, securities and finance professionals, and directors and officers—against claims of malpractice, errors and omissions, and improper employment practices.

Scott’s deep understanding of the client experience sets him apart. Having managed a national errors and omissions (E&O) program for agents of a major life insurer, he brings a practical, business-minded perspective to every engagement and a keen awareness of what clients need—and expect—when purchasing legal services.

Beyond the courtroom, Scott advises professional clients on ethical compliance and risk avoidance strategies. He is a frequent presenter on legal ethics and risk management for attorneys and serves on the Massachusetts Bar Association Committee on Professional Ethics.

A proven leader, Scott served as Managing Partner of Morrison Mahoney for eight years, overseeing operations across the firm’s ten Northeast offices. Under his leadership, the firm grew from 157 to nearly 190 attorneys, revenue increased by 30%, and the firm successfully navigated the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also served on the Executive Committee for 12 years. Scott joined Morrison Mahoney in 1990 and became a partner in 1995.

Scott began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office under legendary District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau.
