Raymond J. Plouffe

It is with deep sadness that the firm marks the passing of our friend, colleague, and partner, Raymond Plouffe, on June 12, 2026.

After graduating magna cum laude from Fairfield University, Ray attended Villanova University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1984. He joined Morrison Mahoney’s Bridgeport office in the spring of 2023 and made an immediate and lasting impact on the firm.

Ray was a lawyer’s lawyer in every sense of the phrase. He was thoughtful, skilled, and deeply committed to the practice of law. He brought exceptional judgment, intellectual rigor, and professionalism to every matter he handled. Equally important was his unwavering dedication to his clients, for whom he was a trusted advisor and tireless advocate.

Ray approached each representation with care, diligence, and integrity, earning the respect of clients, colleagues, and adversaries alike throughout his distinguished career.

Within the firm, Ray was extraordinarily generous with his time and knowledge. He took every opportunity to share his insights, advice, and wisdom with friends and colleagues, always making time to lend a helping hand or provide guidance. His mentorship, collegiality, and kindness enriched all who had the privilege of working with him.

Outside the office, Ray was an avid fly fisherman who loved the outdoors, his dog Piper, and playing his guitars.

Ray will be remembered as a caring and compassionate person, an outstanding attorney, and a valued colleague and friend whose presence made our firm better. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
