Jonathan is a partner in the Providence office of Morrison Mahoney.  He concentrates his practice in the areas of general liability, toxic tort liability, and professional liability.  As part of his general liability practice, he represents corporations and individuals against negligence, premises liability and auto liability claims.  As part of his professional liability practice, he defends hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals against claims of medical malpractice.  He also defends real estate agents and insurance agents.

Prior to joining Morrison Mahoney, Jonathan was staff counsel for one of the largest insurance companies in the United States, where he handled Rhode Island and Massachusetts motor vehicle, premises liability, and construction cases.  He also defended worker’s compensation matters in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

While in law school, Jonathan received CALI awards for the highest grade in his civil procedure, mediation, negotiation, and professional responsibility classes.  After law school he worked as an Appellate Law Clerk for Associate Justice Maria M. Cabret of the United States Virgin Islands Supreme Court.

Jonathan also has extensive alternate dispute resolution experience as he has defended well over 100 cases at arbitration and resolved numerous cases via mediation.  In addition to participating in alternate dispute resolution as an attorney, he is certified to act as a mediator in the state of Rhode Island.
