Cliff is an associate in the Boston office of Morrison Mahoney. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial and business litigation, environmental and toxic torts, legal malpractice, product liability, and tort liability and represents individuals and legal entities in a diverse portfolio of matters, including but not limited to high-stakes litigation.

Cliff closely works with clients and their insurers on litigation strategy, objectives, and budgets, and engages opposing counsels to promote early resolutions to the satisfaction of his clients and their insurers. He has a great depth of prior experience defending and advocating on behalf of individuals and legal entities through deposing fact and expert witnesses, drafting/answering discovery requests, motion practice, and trials.

  • Two defense verdicts as a first chair for a residential solar energy company against claims brought by plaintiffs that included but were not limited to violations of c. 93A.
  • Secured early dismissal of industrial client in a case involving allegations of asbestos exposure after cross-examination of the plaintiff revealed that the plaintiff’s work with the client’s products did not generate dust (no exposure).
  • Successfully argued for a preliminary injunction to enjoin a landowner from selling their stake in waterfront property in a case where his client sought to reach-and-apply the value of the property to satisfy a court-confirmed arbitration award.
  • Successfully argued to vacate a default judgment against client in a wrongful death case where the client was subject to potential punitive damages.
