In celebration of Morrison Mahoney LLP’s 75th Anniversary, we are thrilled to unveil our special edition 75th Anniversary Logo, created in collaboration with students of Cristo Rey Boston High School. In an effort to continue our long standing relationship with the inner-city Boston high school, Morrison Mahoney turned to its students with the task of this redesign. Students across all grade levels were encouraged to participate in an Art Logo Club and submit their very own interpretations and designs.

Cristo Rey Boston is a private, tuition-free college-prep high school in Dorchester, committed to serving culturally diverse, aspirational students with economic need. The school’s students come predominantly from the neighborhoods of Boston. Cristo Rey’s model includes a weekly placement at a Corporate Work Study job, where students connect the classroom to a career. Students strengthen their social and technical acumen as they develop newfound awareness to pursue and excel in careers or industries they may not have otherwise considered.

Morrison Mahoney is proud to take part in the school’s mission as one of its Corporate Work Study (CWS) partners since 2014. Morrison Mahoney offers Cristo Rey Boston students a work environment rich in learning, support, and compassion. We have been deeply connected to the CWS program, recognizing the powerful benefits of mentoring for Cristo Rey students.

“We have always been impressed by the drive, passion, and creativity of Cristo Rey Boston students and are so excited to partner with them to celebrate our firm’s 75^th Anniversary,” said Managing Partner Scott Burke, who revealed the winning designs at the school’s event on February 17, 2023.

Morrison Mahoney had the honor of choosing the designs of two students to use in conjunction with our year-long 75^th Anniversary celebration– artists Brandon Barani and Cynthia Nguyen.

Brandon Barani, who designed the lettermark version of the anniversary logo, hails from Hyde Park and is a member of the class of 2023. Brandon has fostered a love of art and drawing since childhood. He plans to pursue a career in the arts and is currently exploring colleges with theater and design programs.

Cynthia Nguyen of Dorchester and the Cristo Rey class of 2024 created the full firm name logo. Cynthia has strong college and career ambitions beyond high school, with aspirations to study at an Ivy League university and work towards a career as an architect. Cynthia is interested in architecture because “it’s all around us,” she says. “Architecture is responsible for constructing the world we live in and, as a result, human civilization.”

In addition to creating the design contest, Morrison Mahoney will donate funds to Cristo Rey Boston to support the college aspirations of its students as part of our 75th Anniversary celebration, acknowledging our long standing relationship with the school. The donation will help Cristo Rey Boston students, including the winning artists, along their path to college success.
